Plant: Floriferous spring bulb. Ideal for naturalizing in woodlands and shady gardens. Cultivar ‘Excelsior’ shown.

Origin: western Europe

Zone: 4 - 8

Flowers
: bluish purple, 1” flowers on a spike-like raceme 10-16". Blooms for two to three weeks in May. Aggressive. Forms large blooming stands.

Foliage
: strap-like green leaves ~12” usually flopping in shade.

Culture
: full sun to part shade. Grows well in most soils. Rarely bothered by pests or diseases.
