Origin: Eastern Asian mountains and wooded valleys

Flowers: bold colored, star-shaped flowers from late spring through mid summer.
Foliage: simple leaves scattered along stem.
Culture: sun to partial shade in neutral to acidic soil. Tolerant of most conditions. Disease resistant. 'Yellow Star' and 'Red Twinkle' and 'Landini' are among scores of other cultivars.
