Flowers: reflexed, textured, turks cap flowers with copious, dark red pollen on anthers. Flowers typically sterile.
Foliage: scattered along stem.
Culture: sun to partial shade. Tolerant of soil conditions. Tetraploid plant is vigorous and disease resistant. Perhaps tiger lily is an agriculutal crop. Used in Asian cooking. Easy to propagate with bulbils. and bulb offsets that make this the only lily with potential to be "weedy". Usually carries a virus. Do not grow around susceptible lilies.
