Flowers
: 4" iris flowers perched atop a 2" stem. Upright standards and tubular falls usually shades of bluish purple. I. danfordiae is a short-lived yellow species. I. "George" is a more robust cultivar.

Foliage: Angular rush-like leaf blades 4" at flowering grow to over 24" before fading in mid Summer

Culture
: Sun to deciduous shade in well drained soil.
