Plant: bulbous perennial acclimated to Mediterranean climate with summer dormancy.

Origin: southeastern Asia

Flowers
: sometimes fragrant, colorful trumpets on 18-36" "naked" stalks in late summer

Foliage: strap like leaves ~18”; leaves emerge in late autumn; fade in late spring

Culture
: full sun; well drained soils; best for containers in northern gardens where they should be treated as bright light houseplant while actively growing in winter; rarely bothered by pests or diseases.
