Plant: bulbous perennial, leaves to 18", flowers to 8"

Origin: central and southern Europe

Zone
: 4 - 8

Flowers
: large lily-like flowers on short stems sprouting directly from the ground without foliage.

Foliage: course, strap-like leaves appear in March and fade away in June.

Culture
: full sun to part shade in well drained soil. Summer dormant. Leaves will overwhelm interplanted spring bulbs. For best show plant in mass with a groundcover.
