Plant: bunching perennial to 8'

Origin: southeastern US

Zone
: 6 - 9

Flowers
: buttery yellow sunflowers along stems.

Foliage: thin almost linear leaves.

Culture
: sun to part sun. Mesic soil. Prune back in late spring to control floppiness. In cold climates plant in a sheltered location to protect flowers from early frosts. Some cultivars are hardy in Chicago (zone 5). Blooms concurrent with H. tuberosa but lasts longer and has a better show.
