: small, lightly fragrant peony-like blooms covering plant from late fall to winter. Ranges from light reds to whites. Petals make attractive leaf litter.

Foliage: simple, waxy

Culture
: sun to part shade. Rich, well-drained, mesic soil. Mulch with humus or compost. Non invasive roots and shade tolerance make them perfect for foundations.
